Living History Photography

In 2021, I became interested in a different style of editing. The photos I had taken and edited up until this point revolved around exposure brackets. I learned about blending the exposures instead of creating a high dynamic range image. I had more control with the exposure blending process and it took less time to make a final. Then I rediscovered texture editing and in 2022 stumbled on painterly photos. About this time, I found photographer Robert Clay’s living history blog and signed up for his workshop. This year I photographed Race to Dan in Salisbury, N.C., Huck’s Defeat in McConnells, S.C., and The Battle of Charlotte in Huntersville, N.C.
