It was a bright day when we stepped outside for the photo. The weather was between 40 – 50°F and five foot snow banks covered by mud were slowly melting away. I had just finished live-streaming seven sessions and workshops in the South Royalton, Vermont church. I didn’t want to miss an opportunity to photograph a few of the people who had volunteered their time during the event.
Because it was bright and it was a two-handed shot, the shutter speed was faster and the aperture was wide open (35mm, f/2.8, 1/750s). I set Felicia in front of the evergreen for contrast and to hide the houses nearby. In Affinity Photo, the black and white levels were pulled in a touch, the shadows brought up a tad, and a vignette with a soft edge darkened the background. I had a few subtle particles to remove with the inpainting brush tool.
